Ricoh Aficio MP C4500 Toner add problem

I'm having problems with the toner add on a C4500. Customer added a new toner, but it's still calling for toner. I tried turning off the "toner end", but it runs for a long time, trying to add toner. How common is it for the toner pumps to go out? I pulled it out and checked for clogging. It looked OK to me. (BTW-They've been using generic toner.)

your need to clean Vac all the pumps and pipes and sns. memory clear after you print off non default data.
reenter all the data and set up registraction and your fault will go away.

    good luck

I had a 3535 K pump go out last week. Although the MFP had 1.6 million on the K clock, so... although just over a year old, I think I'm ok with a pump going out after that many cycles.

The first law states that energy is conserved: The change in the internal energy is equal to the amount added by heating minus the amount lost by doing work on the environment.

The generic toner might be the problem, but try updating the firmware, as strange as it may sound, i had 2 copiers that were doing the same thing, they changed bottles 3 times and nothing, did the firmware upgrade and the toner level shot through the roof..

Have them ditch that toner for starters. Have you put a new OEM toner in to test it? That's where I'd start before throwing parts at it.
the savin2535 is displaying well bet the hiter lamp is not shining and the lamp had been tested o.k.please kindly help.

Hay 6ft4yawdman I just got a second hand MPC4500 but I can not find Firmware updates anywhere. Can you help me out. Any help would be appreciated. I replaced the Fusing unit with one from a Genuine Ricoh Fusing Unit SPC811DNA 402718 G298-07 OEM New. After switching the wire the copier now prints beautifully. but the old firmware is causing problem in the scan-to-file and scan-to-email configuration. I am connecting to a plain Win7 Pro 32bit but the MPC4500 can not connect and the SMTP setting are not working. Firmware on unit is from 2006. I think. Help!!!

Note: I am not a copier maintenance engineer. I am an IT specialist with Printer experience.

Re: Ricoh Aficio MP C4500 Toner add problem

I have the same problem on my C4500. It was working fine and I replaced the toner cartridge with a generic. It started adding toner. Then I replaced with an OEM cartrdige but the problem did not go away. I can hear the clicking sound of the pump but after clicking for few minutes it comes back to add toner. The machine has only 250K total copies. Any suggestions. thanks

Note: I have another C4500 and replaced the generic cartridge in it and it works fine.

Replace the toner pump and hose. The 3500/4500 B223** pumps and the mpc 5000 D029*** went out a lot on those models. I always carry at least 1 of each for the K pump since its usually the first to go. I have had some last a million pages and others die out after only 5-10k pages.

The black is B2233211 it comes with the hose.

I have heard but have no proof that he generic toner can cause this prematurely however we run only OEM toner and they still fail willy nilly so who knows.
