MPC2800 with Fax - What's the extra memory for?

    Good night, guys and girls!

I've got an MPC2800 with the fax option installed, and it started acting funny. I came to the conclusion that the memory installed along with the fax unit was faulty and removed it - and the fax works fine without it.

My question is: what functions does the customer lose without the memory installed? Is it just a matter of not being able to hold as many documents if there's no paper or no toner? Or is there anything that the machine stops being able to do?

I've checked this, but couldn't come to a conclusion about this - maybe someone here can shed some light on this for me.

    Thanks!

thats pretty much it... also if they try and fax out with say a 20 page doc, it will stop around 10 pages in and fail.

It used to increase the amount of numbers you could store but that's done with the machine's address book now

Thank you, guys. So, I'll leave the machine as it is now and see what happens - if the customer finds out he needs the extra ram, he'll have to buy it.

    Cheers!

Right, its called SAF memory. For Store and Forward.
