    MP-C2000 Dead touch panel

I have a MP-C2000 and the touch panel doesn't respond. I pulled the op panel apart and cleaned everything and reseated all of the connectors. I know that Koyceras touch panels go bad all the time. So if the Ricoh's are the same could you provide me with a part number also.
    Thanks

There is a program going on at this time to have them replaced gratis (most all of the hvga displays are affected, there is a defect where the ribbon cable connects to the touchscreen). You will need to contact your local dealer/ricoh office to get it.
Attached is the Tech Bulletin if you have any questions.

If you have any 3035/3045's in the field, order some touch screens for those too - H310 9900. The problem also affects the Apollon / Athena-C2, modded touch screen is D029 9900.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.

I'm an indepentent technician and I am seeing this in the 3025 / 3030 series as well.

Does anyone know the best way for me to handle this situation.
Currently I have at least 3 customers that are recalibrating each morning.

Is Ricoh helping indy's as well or do we have to purchase the part?

    Thanks

Ricoh would like to shoot indies, so dont expect any help from them. The 3025 and the MPC2000 use the same screen H310-6173

You never realize how cheap a professional is until after you let an amateur do it.

    Re: MP-C2000 Dead touch panel

Hello all. Maybe its too late for a rwply. Or maybe not.
However, i had to recently encounter this issue.
My experience with this was say for some3 years. I took out the lcd panel, and gave it a thorough blow using hot air for say some 30 secs. Then i dis put it back to the machine and the panel started working. Of course trying this method is left to the discretion of the user bearing all the risks involved.

If you've gone to the trouble to disassemble it that far, it is best to replace at that point

Replace the touch screen with the updated one and problem gone.
