aficio 2060 can't keep a good and quality copy

    hi to all
    the black areas look gray.
    we use original developer .
katun and aeg drums (katun two versions)
and original and non original toner.
it show 4v and 0.4-0.5v vsp and vsg.
we replace the developer it is o.k. for 10k-40k then we loose the quality again.
we have the same problem with most of the 2060 2075.

    thanks

Is the mag roller blacker-en? Also have you tried changing the Drum as the dev may just be compensating for drum wear (or just being katun). If your using a mixture of different manufactures of drum/dev/toner etc, you will not get as good quality as the mixtures and voltages they draw will not be in tune with each other. so after a while the dev may be taking a strain coping with the drum and toners. Service it with Ricoh family parts see how long it last and it will prove a point... or not, you will have to see. But replace all dev/toner/drum together.

What do you mean with loose quality? Does it fade out or does it get too dark?

ok, so there is a problem with the toner adittion, i think. Does the toner bottle rotate? Are you sure, all connectors in front of the developing unit are ok? There is a Motor/Clutch Assy in the back of the unit, the motor drives the developing Assy, and the clutch is responsible for adding toner, have a look at this

Open up the transparent cup on top of the development unit, check too see if the two little seals that feed the toner into the unit are there, they peel off quit often clean "vacuum" the metalic filter that may do the trick...

I would have to agree with Ayjayaredii about the drum. An old drum on these machines will cause background and poor solid fill. However, if the drums are fresh and this problem is on 30 machines, it almost HAS to be a problem with the toner or developer being used.

Check the drum earth, change the drum shaft / hub assy.
