I think I've got it narrowed down to the bridge unit exit sensor (jam code 68). The problem is that my parts manual does not include the Bridge Unit type 1045 (B397).
Does anybody have a part number for sensor S1- bridge unit exit sensor, and the flag if it comes separately? =^..^=

AW020098 (there are 2 of these in the bridge unit, 1 in the base and 1 where the paper comes in from the interchange).

That fixed it. Either that, or removing the half dozen removed staples from the inner part of the bridge unit.
How do you accidentally drop staples in the inner tray? Sliding down the right side of the finisher? =^..^=

The same way you go to a library and push coins into the vent holes in the covers in order to make copies.
(Dimes smell better then quarters when they land on the big heatsink on the power supply)
Funny! I always got a $5 tip when I'd have to work on some of these coinops hooked to Canon machines. The op panel will hold about $5 worth of coins before it starts shorting out the panel. The coins fit quite nicely through the card reader slot (even after I epoxied the card reader cover on, they would pry it off...). =^..^=
