I wouldn't expect the SD card to make a difference on what the driver displays, but then again I don't know that much about macs. Are you sure you installed the correct driver (maybe put in the MP4000 by mistake)?

If you need assistance to print from MAC without PS installed take a look at this site.

    OpenPrinting | The Linux Foundation

    http://www.openprinting.org/printer/...ficio_MP_C4000

As MAC OS X is a Unix Environment, you can use "CUPS" for printing.
It worked perfectly even with MPC1500SP (That's Crap)

I NEVER allow an installation where Macs are printing using anything but PostScript.

The CUPS drivers only kinda work, and some machines (like the MPC2550) have no drivers available.

Keep in mind that no MFP manufacturer will support you if there are issues. They will tell you that PostScript is required.

I have heard of folks "being the hero" by using CUPS drivers, only to have the customer complain about extremely slow printing, lack of full feature support, and color issues, none of which you can do anything about.

To top it all off, once your sales department finds out that you were able to get Macs to print without PostScript, leaving it out of their deals will become the new norm, and they'll stop selling PostScript almost completely, at least in mac environments.

    What do you do then?

You have two options for Mac and Linux printing without PS - Guttenprint and Foomatic.

Guttenprint is the most user-friendly, but doesn't support many Ricoh color machines, neither advanced features like User Codes.

Foomatic is a little bit less user-friendly (but not much) but it allows you all the stuff that Guttenprint doesn't - I recently been able to use user codes on a MPC2800 on a Mac.

Keep in mind that printing will be slower with these, because what they do is convert PS to PCL, and on a slow PC it will show - on my test iMac G3 (old machine), a two-page print took two minutes with foomatic. But I believe in newer computers you'll be hard pressed to find a difference.

I have set these up as a test in the demo room to see how they function, and agree with MrWho's findings.

If a customer insists on using a non-PS driver such as these, I tell him that it is his responsibility to do so and that we cannot support it in any way.

Don't set yourself up for disaster by even alluding to the notion that this is a supported solution.

Been there, done that, got the scars to prove it.

We're not discussing about performance or advanced functionality. Sabah asked, I gave an advice. That's all.

BTW I am the "salesman" of my own firm, and in most of my customers would not complain about saving such a big cost for printing in a room with 12 Windows and 1 MAC. If they want to have better performance or better quality, they will buy PS option.

Openprinting is, as well as other open projects a "band-aid" for a scratch.
If you sell it as "THE SOLUTION" you will have a scar! :-)

@Sabah: At least, did you solved?

    Dear Vincenzo and all

First of all thanks alot for all your kind reply.
As we discuss both option in our organisation to solve using
openprint and telling customer to purchase PS option.

And finally we quoted for PS option and waiting for approval
    from customer.
