jam code is 252. I lubed the stapler rail, but it keeps happening. Any ideas?

Did you use a grease or oil? I use Tri Flow oil, which seems to give me the best results. Anything thicker then oil is probably not going to work as well. I think this issue is going to be ongoing until they update the motor with one that has more torque. Some techs have suggested loosening the belt tension, but I have only done that once recently and can't say if it helps one way or another. To get to that just remove the back cover, top cover and top metal plate. Then you can see the tension screw on the motor plate by looking straight down behind the board in the rear.

I pulled the finisher out and cleaned and lubed the rod with tri-flow. Pulled it back and forth a few times and now it is working. I have had to lube this rod before but removing the finisher from the machine gives better access.

I can't believe they haven't issued a tech bulletin yet, it's been ongoing for awhile.

Try running the motor in SP output mode, if you can easily stop it by hand and it doesn't tear your flesh off I'd replace it.

I had a couple of these and I replaced the following parts to correct the issue.

Lubricated the rail with silicone oil (fuser oil) and replaced the following parts:
B7923014 - Motor (qty 1) - The motor's torque has been increased and has a longer wiring harness.
D4291512 - Sensor (qty 2) - The gate sensor above the motor and the home position sensor for the stapler unit on the inside.

I hate these finishers. I have a c2550 with one that wont align pages properly for stapeling and another today that the inverter sensor went out on.
Ricoh & Microsoft may pay the bills but Un*x saves my ass every day.
