    Savin 2545 (Ricoh 1045) NIB

I have a 2545 that won't print after a while. When you turn off the copier & power on you can print briefly then the problem returns and you can't print. No error codes and the machine displays a msg about unable to connect to the ip address. IT person says it's the Nic on the copier. Reseated the boards and blew them clean. I suspect the nib or firmware. Any comments or thoughts much appreciated. On the nib linklights green and yellow are lit. Thanks----Blaze

You can reset the NIB in service mode then re-enter the info or set the speed to 10 or 100 fixed in user tools.
I would just replace the NIB itself. They can tend to get a little quirky.
Why do they call it common sense?

If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?

Have you hooked up a laptop and been able to duplicate the problem? that would be my first step and i like to use their cable. That is to eliminate any machine problems. if it works fine that way, then it could be a bad port on the switch or router.

if it is the NIB< the part number is B007 5700.

Ditto, always the first step. IT folks always say it's a device issue after they do a cursory check from their throne, like the phone company saying there's nothing wrong with the phone line.....

Good point on using the same cable!

I had a customer all but call me names (maybe he did behind my back!) that our machine, a Canon iR600 was a hunk-o-junk.

Turned out that their cleaning people (always an easy target) had moved the machine to vacuum around it, and pinched the cable with one of the machine's casters. More than pinched it actually - they basically cut it in half.

The IT guy got real nice after that.

We can do their job and they can't do ours so they're bitter.
