add/replace toner will not go away. did and output test for toner motor and main motor and both are working. when close cover machine says adding toner and it leaves a mess, almost like pcu unit is not working. but is that possible with the output test showing the motor for that part is turning. not sure what else to check. any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks to All

how many copies you have done with that pcu? do you have any other pcu to put on the machine and test? you can also remove the tonner supply unit and and dismantle and clean.

agree with ponto. it sounds like the PCU unit has failed. is it making any odd noise? The gears on these have a tendency to fail so that it does not auger and mix the toner, which leads to toner spilling out.

Open the shutter on the PCU. If it's packed with toner then the dev drive gears have probably worn so the new toner isn't being mixed. Replace the PCU if that is the case.

If the shutter isn't packed with toner, cheat the front door and run the toner motor in output mode to make sure that it is turning. Also, check that the bung from the top of the previous toner bottle isn't stuck in the hopper and that the paddles on the inside of the toner hopper case are still attached.

Like Jon and Ponto said, it's probably the PCU.

I agree with jon, it's the gears in the dv unit. Replace those gears and the lower dv case part numbers b039 3060, b039 3062 are the gears and if i rem right the dv case is b209 3370. I have had this happen many times, usually you can tell it's the gears because they will grind and make an awful racket.

Do you fit complete PCU's to these machines or the rebuildable one?
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.

Just put a Type 1027 in it, rebuilding these things is a waste of time as far as I'm concerned
