HELP
You never realize how cheap a professional is until after you let an amateur do it.... and
if this was an easy thing to do then everybody would be doing it! But it isn't and they are not!!
sorry ,is toner being dropped onto image ,off dev unit into machine ?
Try bending out the lower cleaning unit seal they will curl inward , Or replace the entire pcu, the seal is not a part by itself.
Check toner hopper seals.
A little leakage will fall where the bottle is, and the bottle turns counterclockwise filling the machine with toner.
Why do they call it common sense?
If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?
Just replace the toner supply unit(hopper).
I've noticed that after (or close to) 100,000 they dump toner...if you replace drum, dveloper in a mchine that has been dumping then do the hopper at the same time and you won't see the machine for that issue for another 100k.
so its not a leak ,from the toner hopper, its on the image, you probably checked ,but is the transfer section all ok,I've had a number of issues in the past with these.
It's a very dirty machine anyway
What are the readings of SP 3001 /3103 (Vsp and Vsg) and 2223?
Did you have a toner bottle in the machine when you set up the Dev? If you did, but didn't cover the toner entrance into the PCU, the machine may have added toner to the Dev during setup and would therefore run overtoned!
Which SP's did you use to set up the new dev / PCU?
Strange...it sounds like the cleaning unit seal but you said you replaced the whole pcu... is the correct toner being used ?
I've had a few of these need some additional drum grounding, but that was more for overall dirty copies. The toner seems to be dumping out from the mag roller and into the front of the unit. The current drum ground is a small tab that runs from the outside of the frame to the outside of the drum shaft bearing. I've made other tabs from copper drum grounds from older machines and ran them directly to the back of the drum shaft with a dab of conductive grease on them. They all seemed to respond to this treatment very well.
