    Re: mpc2500 dog earring

    Hello,
I'm a little bit late here, but i'm having exact the same problem now with two mpc2500.
    Is there a solution already?
    Many thanks in advance!
    Greetings, Mark

It might be the exit unit module between the bridge, and the fuser. I have had a few, where rollers were clogged with toner, and some where heat from the fuser really bended and twisted the guides inside there.

You have to take it out, to see both errors, can't see it from the "outside".

    Dear Impetus,
thank you for your quick answer!
I have double checked and cleaned the interchange unit, won't help...
I have looked for bended guides, can't see any...
Although i believe you, the guides of the exit unit are going to be replaced.
I let you know the result (might take a week or so)
    Greetings,
    Mark

Narrow down your possibilities. Did you run the machine without the bridge installed? It's super easy to take out.

Is it only doing it while duplexing? Rule that out.

Does it change if you change the orientation of the paper? SEF vs. LEF?

    Pattyboy,
When it happens, the curl is formed with the first run of a duplex task.
There is no bridge unit installed
Curl is formed after the fusing rollers and before B238 4930 the Reverse receiving Tray (outside machine).
    So... ???
    (Thank you for your input...)
    Greetings,
    Mark

There is the duplex lever that is connected to the right door. When the door is closed it sits just above the fusing unit and gets hot and brittle and breaks and also can get toner caked on it. Replace this if any of the pawls are broken or are spinning on the shaft.

Turn SP1950xxx (all of them under 1950) to anything greater than 30. This SP tells the fans how long to run and will cool the machine. The machine will be noisier after a print so make sure you think of that for how long you want the fans to run.

    Re: mpc2500 dog earring

I notice that even with single face copies all the corners are bended, especially the front corners.. The paper has been in the tray for a few days now, so it might be that it is moistured.
    Eureka! Problem solved:
the paper is colliding against the harness wich is located above the solenoide in the exit unit.
So, remove the bleu exit cover (located at the right of the receiving tray, that is actually the passage to the reverse tray for duplex) and pull the harness towards you, and make shure it never goes in the paper path again...
