    Firmware Help please

I need to do a firmware update/reload on a ricoh 2238c. I have yet to attempt anything that has to do with firmware so i know nothing about it. I need a detailed description of the proper procedure to do this.

Put the firmware on a folder called romdata on an SD card smaller than 256mb. Bung it in the machine and follow the instructions on screen. Information on updating firmware is in EVERY machine's service manual.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.

1GB works with the recent models, but when you want to update the older models you need a smaller SD-Card. The older models won't recognise SD-cards larger than 1 GB. Two days ago I changed the language firmware of an Aficio 3228C with a 512 Mb SD-Card.

I think the key is find a really fast card. The machine has to read all of the data in a certain period of time. I generally use 1 gig cards but older machines can read slow card that are large in size.

You never realize how cheap a professional is until after you let an amateur do it.

Amazon has 512 MB card for $20.00.
Why do they call it common sense?

If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?
