MPC 4500 deleting administrators password . Unable to program IP address

There is a password set in this unit and I cant make any changes to network. Is there a memory erase function that I can perform in mode 5 to clear this?

Try logging in as Supervisor with no password and change the admin password.
If you can't log in as supervisor you will have to replace the novram.
Why do they call it common sense?

If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?

Try logging in as "supervisor", leave password blank. From there you can go to Administrator Management and reset the login and password, you can't make any other changes in supervisor mode. If supervisor login has been changed from default and the new one isn't available, then the NVRAM will have to be replaced.
