Ricoh 2051 sc818 error code

Can anyone help with error code SC 818 on this machine?

SC818 - Watchdog error
While the system program is
running, a bus hold or interrupt
program goes into an endless loop,
preventing any other programs from
executing.

Possible Cause
• System program defective; switch off/on,
or change the controller firmware if the
problem cannot be solved
• Controller board defective
• Controller option malfunction

I would recomment removing the controller and cleaning all of the contact points with Deoxit or a similar contact cleaner and update the firmware before considering replacement of the controller board.

The procedure you can find from Paul (2 posts up). The firmware you can get when you register at Tessa or Ricoh TSRC.
