Check your developer setups. If one of them wasn't setup properly then it will prevent the machine from detecting toner. To check them look at SP3815 and the setup at 3812. Whichever one is not displaying a 1 will need to be replaced. If having problems during replacement of the developer usually it will happen when you try to send the toner to the unit because this initializes the TD sensor. If this happens then you need to replace the entire development unit and redo the developer loading. Even if the color in the SP modes is not the color with the toner loading problems it will still cause the toner loading problem. Before you start any major work on this make sure your firmware is up to date. There are a lot of fixes in the firmwares for toner issues along with many other problems.

Ditto what wfinn says, this is generally caused by not following the initial setup exactly. Attached is the Tech Bulletin that addresses this along with one that gives an outline of the developer setup....

I've also added the pages from the Troubleshooting section of the manual that addresses this also...

I agree with all that has been said here. These machines have a ton of codes to run after parts replacement and they aren't exactly displayed or explained very well in the manual. Good nights home work that manual.

Not a true fix, but a get out of jail card that works.

    Run Sp3801 for any color that doesn't have a 1 in Sp3802
    Change Sp3410-x to 10
Turn off copier & insert blank SD card in the service slot
Turn on copier & leave the front door open
Run Sp5824 - NVram upload to SD card
    Run Sp5801-2 engine clear
    Reboot copier
    Run Sp5825 - NVram download
Turn off copier & remove the SD card

I have results for sp 3812 -4111 and 3815 reads 1447. This machine is saying toner liw for magenta. Does the above solution work ok?

Devs have only done sbout 60k and did not want the expense of four new devs.

Also can all 4 devs be setup simultaneously?

Its odd that the add toner issue takes a while to materialize.

    Re: mpc7500 & mpc7501-can't detect toner.

I personally do one dev setup at a time. These things are far too tetchy to risk setting the lot up at once. One problem during the first dev fill or TD sensor initialisation, you have three bottles of dev sat on the faceplate you have to take off to do the manual fill.

So, to summarise, the Venus dev fill procedure is horrible and the person responsible for it should be kicked in the crotch.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.
