    c4500 Windows Auth when Printing

I have a 3 year old C4500 and want to implement Windows authentication. I have got this working for copy and scan, however I cannot get any of the drivers (PCL 5, 6 and RCPS) to authenticate. None has a field to enter the user name, only a field for UserID (max 8 digits).

I have read numerous posts that mention a driver popup, none of my drivers do this. Some of the post say I need to edit the driver, but I only have access to version 1 of the Driver editor (the posts suggest Version 2 is required, which is Tech only?).

    Help would be handy!

    Cheers,

You have to first enable "authentication" under the advanced tab in driver properties.

Then you will get the ability you are looking for.
