There will be dust on the optics. Threw me for a proper curve ball first time I saw it, I was wondering how the hell a machine can give you green lines from the engine!
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.

Take the copy that has the line on it and place it face up on the plate glass, follow the line across to the small slit glass and mirrors, that is where the dirt will be...look real close cuz sometimes it's really hard to see. Last bet is cleaning the CCD assy, but if it works on B&W.. I doubt that would be it. Everytime I've had a color line, it's been either on the mirrors, but usually the slit glass. Last time was a pretty pumpkin orange...lol

You must concentrate on slit glass, or check the ADF guide that the paper is passing thru, maybe there is some dirt or color lines which is reflecting to the image.

clean the mirror carrying frames in the optics with a cloth that does not leave any strands of fibre
