Back 25 years ago this seemed like the thing to do. I have to say that it rarely fixed anything though. Only if you have a tech that likes to change settings randomly (and I sure hope not).
It's probably too late now to say "Don't do it."
All you end up doing is creating several hours of entirely unnecessary work, trying to recover settings that you already had in the beginning, and tossed out. =^..^=
