Line disconnect due to timeout. Generally slowing the modem speed down will help with this. Also, if this old machine has ECM be sure to turn that off as well.
how do you slow down modem speed?

this is not a machine I know very well so now I need to know how to get to the switches. We have no service manual.
User tools, facsimile features, parameter settings. Its in the operator manual. If you dont have that it can be downloaded from the Ricoh home page at ricoh-usa or ricoh-ap.
