Re: Rescue SD card for MP171-201 spf

I have a doubt about the recovery procedure.
Do you turn on the machine with the Printer/Scanner Card on slot 1 and when the Address book error message appears you remove the card and put the Rescue Card on the slot, or do you turn the machine on with no card on the slot?

I tried both ways and get different messages.
If I turn the machine on with the Printer/Scanner Card on slot 1 and remove it when the Address Book error message appears I get SC867-01
    SC867.jpg

If I turn the machine on with no card on the slot, I get this message:
    Message.jpg

It fails authentication with admin or supervisor.

The firmware is up-to-date because in the past I've managed to recover this with firmware update and SP5846-50.
    I haven't tried with a new Controller.

    Thanks

    The instructions are as follows:

Before starting ensure that system/copy firmware is at least version 1.02

    1. Turn power switch on - sc message is dusplayed.

    2. Insert rescue sd card in slot 1 with machine ON.

    3. Wait for 45 seconds, nothing is displayed on the display (it will look like nothing is busy happening).

    4. Turn power off.

    5. Remove SD card from Slot 1

    6. Turn machine back on and confirm that message is gone after letting machine do complete startup.

    7. Perform SP5-846-050 (init. Address book data aa)

    8. Turn main switch off and back on

    9. Update system/copy firmware to version 1.03 or newer.
    Press the GREEN button!!

Re: Rescue SD card for MP161

Since the SC870 disappearing by following instruction, but the tab of Email and Folder on address book was gone too.
Do you have idea how to restore the Two tabs on address book? Otherwise users can not be registered on address book for function of Scanner. Each time scan functions(Email/Folder) must be manually input, very
awkward. System/copy of Firmware is updated to latest v1.07, but still not solve the problem, Delivery Server is also not working (Select it On, ,but don't update..)

Printer/Scanner card in Slot 1, the SC870 cannot be cleared, if it is inserted into service lot 2, the SC870. can be cleared. Meaning the problem is stilling existing, it seems to me it still needs Rescue Card

I added one more step, Do Sp 5846-051 backup, then 5846-50, after that do sp5846-052 restore, leave printer/scan SD in Service Slot 3

Email and Folder Tab re-appearing in the Address Book, thanks. and tested both allright

But delivery server is still not available, probably has nothing to do with SC870, problem on ScanRouter V2 Administrator , working on it.

Update system even higher than 1.04 because in the 1.04 there were problems with address book access by web.
At the moment there is 1.07. Be careful because 1.07 supports both kinds of controller board (tsunami issue a few years ago) and never do not downgrade system because you can use improper earlier firmware version.
    1.07 is safe
