How do I create rescue sd car MP171-201spf for sc 870 eror code, or who knows the number of rescue sd car for SC 870 eror codes(Adresbook data eror)

What that attachment doesn't tell you is that you have to get the Rescue card from your manager. I have no more details than that at this time, I'll try and post later with more information unless someone beats me to it.

We enquired with our technical services division and were told that for the moment to continue replacing the controller as there isn't enough of the cards to go around in our neck of the woods.

Replace the ram (on the controller) if above procedures cannot solve the problem.

Has anyone ever seen/used any of these "rescue cards" because it is starting to feel like what was called "vapourware" in the old pc days, when software companies promised software that never made it to market, just to keep buyers interested.....

How can a large company like Ricoh not "have enough" cards??

Not "vapourware", just they (stupidly) don't have them available for sale. We got our loaner last friday. As soon as we recover the machine with the problem, we'll send it back.

5846-047 in factory SP also works for this fault, SC870.

I have a doubt about the recovery procedure.
Do you turn on the machine with the Printer/Scanner Card on slot 1 and when the Address book error message appears you remove the card and put the Rescue Card on the slot, or do you turn the machine on with no card on the slot?

I tried both ways and get different messages.
If I turn the machine on with the Printer/Scanner Card on slot 1 and remove it when the Address Book error message appears I get SC867-01

It fails authentication with admin or supervisor.


The firmware is up-to-date because in the past I've managed to recover this with firmware update and SP5846-50.
I haven't tried with a new Controller.

The instructions are as follows:

Before starting ensure that system/copy firmware is at least version 1.02

1. Turn power switch on - sc message is dusplayed.

2. Insert rescue sd card in slot 1 with machine ON.

3. Wait for 45 seconds, nothing is displayed on the display (it will look like nothing is busy happening).

4. Turn power off.

5. Remove SD card from Slot 1

6. Turn machine back on and confirm that message is gone after letting machine do complete startup.

7. Perform SP5-846-050 (init. Address book data aa)

8. Turn main switch off and back on

9. Update system/copy firmware to version 1.03 or newer.

I ordered rescue sd card from Ricoh europa one year ago and we solved problem.

This card avalaible only for mp171 and 201spf models.
