Left the workshop for the day and returned to find an MPC5501A with SR3020 configured. Was working when tech ran-up fine, upgraded firmware, finisher SC792. Murphey's Law? End of the day, I guess its the finisher PCB we need to replace, can someone confirm?Cheers.J.

    Yup.

I've attached the released RTB on the problem.

That RTB is very different to the one I have been sent.
I have replaced the PCB controller with the same board part number (B8045100), but still have SC792. Tried a new bridge unit, which didn't make any difference. Tried a damaged SR3020 from a MPC4500 which had been dropped in transport, with this finisher the machine came to ready, just couldn't pass paper due to the paper path being damaged

(EDIT damaged finisher does NOT allow paper to enter finisher either, just repaired all the bent parts and tried it again with the same result as just using the board).

So I tried the controller board from the damaged finisher part no. (B8045506) and had the machine to ready again, however this time the finisher will not feed paper into the entrance, I'm thinking this is most likely a speed/timing issue as the finisher came from an MPC4500 and I am trying to fit it to an MPC5501A. I'm in a bind here and really want to get this machine out of the workshop, I have tried setting the switches to varying positions referring to the original board, the replacement and the old board from the damaged finisher. There must be a way for me to get this machine up and running with the parts I have available to me, I just need a bit of help getting this one sorted.
Keen to hear all your thoughts.

EDIT Does anyone know if this board (B8045506) can be adjusted to suit a 55 ppm machine rather than the 45 it came from???
    Cheers J.

The SR3020/30 supports the MPC 4501 / 5501 from firmware version 02.090:22 (June 2010 production) onwards.

    Symptom corrected:
    1. The "Full" condition of the punch chad hopper can be cleared just by
    closing the front door.
    2. JAM 192/193/201 occurs just after the machine begins a copy job after
being left unused for a while under low temperature conditions.

    Other changes:
    1. Firmware modified to support the CPM specifications of the AP-C2.5.
So if the SR3020 originally came from a MPC 4500 there is a good chance it could be running older firmware.
If that's the case plug the SR3020 back into a MPC 3500 / 4500 and update it to the latest 02.140:27 (B8045552N) firmware then it should work.

    [EDIT]

Just want to say and confirm that fitting B8045100 did fix my faulty SR3030 that had SC792 and that was attached to an MPC 5501.
So it does not make sense that the new PCB wouldn't work for you, unless the source of your SC792 / paper transport problem is caused by a different fault.

    Cheers Cipher,
The problem only started after a firmware upgrade at run up. I'm going to get another PCB, I've exhausted everything else I can think of.
