    Ricoh MP-C3300 password reset

Hello, I'm a Canon tech posting a question for a Ricoh friend. He's having a problem where he can not access the admin login because he has received a machine with changed password (original user name login = admin and the password is left blank is not working) is there a way to reset/clear password?
Thanks in advance for any help

Log in with supervisor and no password. Then you can change the default admin credentials. If the supervisor doesn't work, an NVRAM replacement is the only solution.

Thanks for responding so quick...In the event that supervisor login fails, what's involved in a NVRAM replacement? is it a part or a process? Thanks again for your help...

If the supervisor doesn't work you'll have to replace the NVRAM-chip on the BICU-Board. This chip holds all settings of the machine.

Before you replace the NVRAM you must backup the contents of the original NVRAM to an SD-Card. After replacing the NVRAM the original settings have to be reloaded to the new NVRAM.

I hope the supervisor credentials will work. I never tell the customers about this supervisor account. If they don't know this account exists, they will never change it.

If the supervisor account doesn't work, the only solution is an NVRAM replacement. There's no other option.

    Re: Ricoh MP-C3300 password reset

    Hello,
I think there is another way. I did it on another model Ricoh 5560c, but I think it is possible to reset both admin and supervisor passwords.
If you did not resolve your problem, I can help you.
Just upload your NVRAM to a file (8824) and send it to me.
I will give you other instructions.

    FYI
admin should be all lower case

You never realize how cheap a professional is until after you let an amateur do it.
