Power or HV arcing, which would be charge or pre charge coronas. Replace both as complete units. CHeck the power source. These units should be on the best power filters you can buy. BTW the lasers in these units normally work or code out completly nothing in between. cost about $1000 US.

    Are you in the UK?

Running on 13A or 16A supply?

Ring main with other equipment or dedicated supply?

    Hi there.

I am having the exact same problem. I'm wondering if you found the solution to this?

The initial problem was an sc670 which was resolved with firmware but now, instead of sc670, he's getting this random black-lined page. Also, when I downgraded the firmware to the previous version, it went back to the sc670 problem. When I check the service history, there's a silent SC670 happening when they get the black sheet.

I have replaced the corona assemblies as well as the RAM; formatted the HDD. I'm thinking it's possibly the IPU but that's a $1200 guess...

    Hi

did anyone find a solution to this problem as we have exactly the same fault on a MP9000 now? only happens when copying/printing 200-300 pages so annoyingly intermittant!!

Spoken to level 2 support at Ricoh and they are adamant that it is the HDD's causing the fault and that they both need to be replaced so i am desperately hunting for the correct drives.

I tried a couple of SATA HDD's I had but I couldn't get them to work (HDD failure). I was going to order a couple from Ricoh.

I hope they're right that it's the HDD's causing this!

In the past when I have HDD errors on these, I just swap the SATA cables between the drives and it ready to go. Done it a few times and have never had to change the drives. All Doc Server is gone of course.

I actually did just try this yesterday - but I'm glad to know someone else did the same and it worked. (Doc Server thankfully didn't matter with this client.)

Was a solution found for this fault?

I have exactly the same problem and I also have it on 2 machines at the same customer. they sit back to back.

    I have:
    • Replaced Laser.
    • replaced memory DIMMS.
    • Formatted HDD on the advice of Ricoh Tech.
    • Replaced HDD.
    • Replaced whole of controller box with a working machine.

I have no error codes on the SMC when this occurs.
I like the suggestions of noise interference but am very interested to see if anyone ressolved this.
My prints are exactly as the example in the original post shows with the margins perefctly respected and evenly spaced white lines.
I am at my wits end.

    Cheers.
