    MPC 4000

    Two Issues:

    1. Skewing from all 4 trays on single-sided copies or print jobs-possible registration issue, not sure if it is a clutch issue or what
    2. 8x11 paper: 2nd page touches the first page at the bottom of the duplexer causing skewing and crumpling of the pages, 11x17 or 8x14 pages never skews or touch one another

Could be a timing issue in that the first page should enter the mfp before the second page has a chance to touch it

The registration sounds like the same issue we had on an MPC4500 recently. Went through the usual, bickle adjust etc with no success.

Changed the green plastic bushes on the reg roller (The ones the springs hook onto) and the rubber reg roller, seems to have improved 95%. Am returning with the reg guide this week as a precaution, the mylar on the guide is worn.

One of our guys told me he had an issue with "Crumpled paper, Z folding , Jams at fuser / exit". He found a cooked sensor "On the duplex door above the rear edge of the fuser" (?). Haven't seen the fault myself, but the previous tech had ordered guides / clutches etc and it didn't cure the problem. He swapped the sensor with one from an old paper feed station (Same part) and it cured the problem.

    Problem Resolved

The driven roller on the fusing cover had a spring missing so the rollers were not engaging with the duplex guIde rollers. Good info on your behalf as well.
