    Misfeeding

This Ricoh Aficio 1045 is having misfeeding problems. The paper stops regardless of tray used. It shows that the misfeed is in section C. The lead edge of the copy stops right at the switch back sensor. I have replaced this sensor but still have the same results. Not sure what is causing it to stop there everytime no matter which tray I use. Any help appreciated, thank you.

When you say "switch back sensor" do you mean the registration sensor? Sounds like a registration clutch or incorrect tray size settings (either via the dials or in user tools).

If the paper stops at the same point to the millimetre you are looking at a faulty sensor. If the point the paper stops moves around the problem will be a clutch.
The fuser exit sensor would be my first guess as it gets slowly roasted by the fuser.
At least 50% of IT is a solution looking for a problem.

Or flats on the press roller?

Does it only do it on duplex or on single-sided as well?

If you gently tap the gate in the interchange unit, is it sticking slightly?

This is so vague it's untrue.

Or toner caked onto the fuser entrance guide.

The list of possibilities without better information just goes on and on.

It just hit me - the sensor just beyond the fuser. Seriously check the paper size settings in the trays. Try changing the paper orientation and see if it still does it.

So many possibilities - maybe a faulty intermediate drive clutch.

I had a sticky solenoid once, but enough of my private life.
