    Just to throw another possible cause into the mix.... Strip the transfer unit out and look at the bushings that sit either side of the bias roller for black. You might find the front one has worn on it's inner surface causing the bias roller to stall. I've had that cause this issue before and that image defect does look rotational.

    what was the meter count for this fault, the posters m/c is fairly low miles - cheers

    300k black, 1.91 million colour. Guess what sort of environment this piece of shit got sold into!

    Could be the ends of the drum coming away from the cylinder at an angle, causing the drum to push away against the seals. Any drum motor lock SC's (can't think off the top of my head what it is) in the history?
