The D029 2256 Black type drum will fit into the black socket on the either the 4501/5501 - 4502/5502 machines. There is no modding required but you must keep the original face plate form the one you replace and fit to the D029 2256 drum.

OK Total confusion from the cheat sheet!
For model C4502 the sheet says modify the C4502 black PCU D1442250 & remove the stud in the color PCU cavity.
The extended wax bar frame on the black PCU will not permit it to fit in the color cavities. Nor will the wax bar assy from a color PCU bolt up to the black PCU.
What am I not understanding?

Hi guguys I came across this thread which had been amusing and interesting :0)
I have a few MPC 7500 that I want to replace but want something more reliable and not needing a vac out every 20k or so. I have been looking at the mpc 5502 models and wanted to know how reliable they are and how often do you change the drum units etc. I will ask on average about 10-15k a month out of the machine just from the trays on normal paper.
Any advice would be grateful
Tim.
Drums are going well over yield on these. You should be fine with the mpc5502 in place of a mpc7500 running 10 to 15k, I have been thinking the same for a customer on a craptastic c6501 but they are stuck on a lease. Check the attached product support guide. 50k/month max which means only a few months a year not necessarily consecutive.
jesus loves you! (everyone else thinks you're an assh*le)
street cred: CompTIA A+ & Network+ Certified; Konica Minolta Gold Seal x2,
Konica Minolta Outward ASSociate, Ricoh, Sharp, Lexmark trained
The 5503 is much better for one the customer cant fxck up the fuser as its locked in the machine and the PTR assy is unbreakable and the W Toner is now a consumable part I have 2 7501s in the Field and would be more than happy if we could replace them both with 4 3503s
With Correct Part numbers now

the 2042 drums work in 2800 3300 as colors no wire swapping necessary actually right across the board on there...up to 5501s I have not tried the 02 series yet
