Yes having frequent failures with fuser sleeves on 5502's. Main issue we have is if customer is using slightly heavier paper stock 100gms.
Fusing sleeve then start peeling themselves at around half the life. We have tried adjusting fusing temp's, pressures, Ricoh tech visit's and still no resolve.

We have tried middle thick modes which should do 100gsm but still sleeves die.
We have had to change the clients running 100gsm paper to thick 1 paper mode which slows the machine down to 35ppm which then defeats the whole point of buying a 55ppm machine in the first place.

If customer is using heavier stock then try and put in a 4502 instead, however these have now been superseded by the 03's and I think Ricoh have admitted to issue on these with a statement they put out on the 5503 and 6003. Obviously so no one has any come back on them!!

This is taken from one of their sales prelaunch presentations.

    "<Recommendation>

When customers print/copy more than 1000 (pages/A4 or LT/Full Color) continuously without breaks, temperature of fusing unit will be too high. As a result, there is the risk that it will cause the damage on the unit and decay of the unit life, if it continuously reaches more than 5000 pages.
The recommendation for customers to take at least 20min break in every 1000 (pages/A4 or LT/Full Color), when the customers print/copy more than 5000 pages continuously from MP C 5503 SP/ASP –MP C 6003 SP .
Please, share this information with sales representatives to prevent MP C 6003 SP being sold to the high volume users by mistake!"

So in summary - Yes the 5502/5503 is a dog machine when you actually want to use it!!!!! Dont get this with Canon or Konica!!!
