hi,

i would like to ask what do you use in cleaning the fuser cleaning roller (hard toner sticking on it), plastic paper guide in the fuser (toner sticking on the long black plastic with 4 screws) and transfer bias roller of ricoh aficio 3045?

I don't clean cleaning rollers or rollers that have baked toner on them of any machine, I just replace them. It's a lot faster than doing a cleaning job of half an hour.

I'm with Eric on this. You'll spend 1/2 hour or more ($75 labor) avoiding the replacement of a $10 roller. It takes some seriously caustic chemicals to remove fused toner from metal roller, like trichlorethylene, or carburetor cleaner, all with a lot of scrubbing and scraping.

Now. the plastic fuser guides are a little different. You can scrape off of the largest chunks of fused toner with a sharp pocket knife, then use Orange-Sol (Contractors De-Solv-It) to remove the remaining residue. Just be careful not to gouge up the plastic or break any of the molded features. =^..^=

transfer bias roller: rinsing water and Scotch-Brite
Plastic Paperguide: Acetone or MEK (Metyl-Ethyl-Keton)
Cleaning roller: replace in field
back in the workshop you can wrap old cleaning rollers with tissue , soak it with acetone and let it at least for a day. The next day either you can clean your rollers or must do it once more. If you have 10 rollers it may be worth the work.

I use a Utility Knife place a rag down and just run the knife down the roller it takes 2 min and your done

Fuser cleaning rollers, just take my large set of pliers, open the jaws as wide as they go and run the wire cutter blade to scrape the worst of the toner off, finish up with a scrub with a steel wool pan scourer, done in 5 mins or less. I'd recommend going outside to do this as the chunks don't half fly off when you're using the pliers.

Transfer bias roller, isopropyl alcohol and scotchbrite. Scotchbrite on it's own does most of the roller ok it's just the stubborn stuff at the edges that the IPA helps dissolve.

Fuser guides - scrape the worst off with a knife, finish with Scotchbrite.
