Ricoh Aficio SPC242SF service mode login

Does anyone know how to login into a "service mode" on this piece of ...?
Tried arrow UP+Down for 30 sec then "Enter" - didn't work
Tried many other options - nothing works.
Just curious if there is a "special" set of keys I don't know about for this machine?

The way to access SP mode is via your laptop.

Connect to the device via USB cable, download the driver and SOM off your local ricoh website.

To access service mode, once you enter the driver, there is a button under accessories tab (i think) called SOM, that will open up the application which is basically SP mode in a GUI interface.

Anything on the device can be changed through the SOM, you even need to use it to reset fuser SC codes.

You can also enter a very limited service mode with Red 107 Green.

Could you please not refer to Ricoh equipment as a piece of ____? People can read this thread if they google Ricoh SP C242SF service mode or similar. I am a Ricoh sales and service guy and this made is not a piece of junk. I use it personally as well. If you have an issue with it then please be specific as to why you are having an issue and I am sure someone will have an answer for you. 99.99% of the time it is something that the user is doing incorrectly and they blame the machine! Or a tech who does not know how to repair it. Or a tech who is burned out or simply unprofessional and does not belong repairing equipment and should seek another area of employment.

Can anyone direct me to this "SOM" of which you speak? I'm trying to download this in order to access the service mode.
I have the PCL printer driver but there is no SOM button that I see.

I've looked on ricoh-usa.com as well as tsrc.

What I actually need is getting into factory service mode to reprogram the serial number; I'm not sure if this is the ticket. Even my own ricoh regional rep does not know how to do it.

If I picture the right machine, I believe these units have a similar engine as the rebadge Kyocera FSC1020 which is the Ricoh SPC231SF.

To enter service mode.
Try pressing the keys : "clear/stop 1,0,7, colour/start"

From memory they're a quirky machine to get into service mode. You have to
have the above key timing correct otherwise you get rejected a few times.
