I have a MPC3000 that prints awesome, but when I make a copy it comes out real bad with lines.
I have been told that this can be solve in service mode.

Looks a lot like bad RAM, but if the prints are good then maybe not... Do the lines clear up if you turn the machine off and then back on? Firmware up to date?
Thxs for responding so fast. This copies that I've made are in b/w, but it's a color copier. It doesn't matter if copy is b/w or color it come out with lines. Here is another photo I took.
Hope this photo is more clear.

Try doing a memory clear on copier application only
Ditto, I've seen this before and I'm almost positive it was a memory dimm. But like stated by rthonpm, I would think prints would look the same. Try reseating them on the controller. The pattern suggests a memory buffer problem of some sort. After that then do a SBU test pattern, this will tell you if the problem is with the scanner (SP4907). From there move onto the IPU test patterns (SP4417).

Bad original read in scanner.
Print a meter sheet.
If it is good, the scanner has a problem.
Try copying meter sheet in service mode with single color copying with each color to see if the same pattern shows on each color.
Check scanner white plate and mirrors for film or distortion.
As always................................
Why do they call it common sense?
If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?
Um, I didn't see this yet, so, sorry if this is wrong.
But, have the optics been cleaned? If the machine prints well but has errors when copying that's a pretty good indication that either the optics are contaminated or the SBU has failed. Although the times I've seen the SBU fail has resulted in somewhat more unusual patterns than what your photos show, so that is kind of unlikely from what I can tell.
I'd put my money on the BICU (IPU) or the CCD's. Check out page 209 of the service manual for Scanner Test Mode.
