    Ricoh Aficio 2045e

In Ricoh Aficio 2045e with printer, scanner and fax, The copier, document server, fax and scanner work well but when I give print, the m/c shows "Printing" but no print coming our. I tried both in PCL6 and RPCS. I tried replacing controller board, network card, harddisk, I cleared memory clear for printer application, connected the m/c with another port but after all these, still pbm exists. What can be the possibility?

    Hi,

Make sure you don't have user codes enable for the printer mode.

    good luck

I get sent out to alot of these types of problems and 95% of the time it's not down to a hardware fault.
If you print off the SMC diagnostic report that will tell you if have a hardware failure.

    Things to check and try...

Update the firmware and drivers to the latest versions.
(There are certain fixes for known issues via firmware and driver updates).

The printer may stall and have to be rebooted after multiple forms(or
templates) are sent to the printer (GFPR#RA04070002 and RE04090011)
Try printing documents from different applications like Word, Excel, Acrobat.
(A lot of the time I find a printing problem only occurs from one specific app, document or users PC).

    Check the NIB link speed.
(10mbit half duplex does not cut it and will cause scanning and print spooler hangs).

Go through the user settings on the machine and check nothing is enabled that shouldn't be.

    Tip
In my opinion on Ricoh's you get less printing problems using their own RPCS raster driver over the more generic PCL5/6 drivers as they seem to update them far more often and they fully support the range of MFD features.
The only other driver that I find is reliable but once again misses some features is the PS3 driver (PS3 option not included as standard).
