Aficio mp3350 door open blown fuse

Ok, making test copies and copier shuts down then when we bring back on it says front door open. We find the fuser farthest left on power supply blown. 125v 5a. Any idea why?

    thanks all!

You've not told us what led to the situation?
I'm guessing that this didn't just start happening out of the blue, but more like some sort of service was performed and now this situation is occurring.

The 5A fuse blows when the current through the fuse is more than 5A. That's why fuses blow. The reason for blowing? A shortcut somewhere.

Could also be a faulty Power Supply, some wire connected to ground, could be anything.

We had replaced both feed clutches on lower deck. Turns out one was bad out of the box and causing that fuse to blow. FYI: I know why a fuse blows just wondering if anyone had seen that before. When I replace those clutches I like to do both at same time. It was not feeding from deck and first clutch was bad. I put second old clutch back in and all works. So much for new parts.

Yes, I'm sure we've all seen defective/ improperly installed parts, cause any number of issues.
However, What I personally haven't done is performed a copier service, which caused a completely unrelated problem to occur, and then posted a blanket question about what would make a random fuse blow on a power supply unit without giving ANY other information, before backtracking through the steps that I had taken to cause the problem in the first place.
