    Ricoh MPC 4502

    Hi,
I have a Ricoh MPC 4502 copier and a screen appears that photoconductor unit is not set correctly (MAGENTA UNIT).
This problem occur during the operation of photocopiers. We created a new TD sensor replacement, but the problem is not resolved.
    Does anyone have any idea.
    Thanks.
    B.R.

If it's not set correctly, is it a magenta PCU or have you modified a black one to go in? The issue is that the machine cannot see it at all. Also, have you plugged in the connector between the dev unit and PCU?

    Hi,
Magenta Drum is original which came with the machine.
I checked all these things but no effect. The question is which board is responsible for controlling the TD sensor.
    Thanks.

No it isn't, it's nothing to do with the TD sensor if it says that it's not set correctly.

If you're convinced that it is though, I'd have to assume that you're an engineer of sorts and, as such, you can read a manual. If you don't have one, Paul will be able to help you out.

Fine, I'll save you the bother, it's the RTFM board.

I never replaced a TD-sensor in these machines, and as far as I know you can't order a separate TD-sensor. And as Llama God says, this has absolutely nothing to do with the TD-sensor.

I had exactly this problem recently, low volume mc showing replace photoconductor (MPC4502). I replaced the toner tube and bingo - message gone.

I think it may be either a firmware issue or perhaps a problem with the toner tube connectors which look like they are actual contacts now rather than RFID.

    Try a new toner.
