Unfortunately there will be no firmware update for the MP 2510. You can set up Scan-to-email or Scan-to-FTP.
Based on the release date, I would say that the Special/Custom Firmware D007 Temp NCS v519bLRC0466 rfg043776 for remote and rfg043775 for SD card. When looking for firmware for scan to folder for Windows 8 or Server 2012 for older out of production machines, check Custom/Special Firmware on TSRC.
So we have 1 yes and 1 no, can I get a tiebreaker
You can always ask the Ricoh guys for a solution. Don't know if they charge for it..
You can also try the following :
Disable "Secure Negotiate" on the client. You can do this using PowerShell on a Windows Server 2012 or Windows 8 client, using the command:
Set-ItemProperty -Path "HKLM:\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Lanma nWor kstation\Parameters" RequireSecureNegotiate -Value 0 -Force
Note: The command as displayed above may wrap multiple lines in your web browser.
This came from a very good tech I know. Haven't tried it yet.
It seems FTP scanning is intimidating to those who may not have set it up before, but using the free FileZilla Server porgram, you can get it working in less than 15 minutes. It is not hard at all. The only additional steps are usually making sure to open Port 21 for both TCP and UDP if they are blocked in a Firewall (Windows or other), and likely either reserving the workstation IP address on the router so it does not change, or making it a static IP address.
FileZilla Server is fairly simple, you pretty much follow the default setup, create a user and password, then specify the scan folder and make sure the user you create has write permissions to the folder. The program runs as a Windows service and is very reliable, and more reliable than SMB scanning. You don't have to mess with Windows file sharing.
I've done this solution many times, even remote in to customer PC's and set it up often. The FileZilla Interface is easy and provides a log to view scanning results.
Feel free to download FileZilla Server from my Dropbox.

Thanks but this post was from a year ago and someone else revived it.
I ended up using scan to FTP and it works fine.
