    Ricoh Aficio MP 2550N -USB and Ethernet Not Functioning or Disabled

    We received in some like new low mileage Ricoh Aficio MP 2550N's at work - the USB and Ethernet ports seem to be disabled somehow. I have gone through the manual and cant find anything.
    If you plug into rj45 jack there are no lights and if you plug into usb 'b' connection there is no response.

    Trying to determine of we should part them out or have someone look at them, is this as simple as having a Ricoh guy come in and enable the port? What should we expect to pay/cost? Or is it bad I/o boards? The units function fine as straight copiers.

    thanks

    If i remember correctly this model come with a usb and network as standard
    you can enable the usb and network port in service mode
    but unless you have the print scan option installed they will not print
    they require print scan buttons on the left of the display,extra memory a hdd and a print/scan sd card installed

    A memory clear is dangerous advice that will solve nothing except creating a shitload of headaches - especially after the machine is setup

    Here's what you want to enable the ports:
    COPY SP:
    SP5985-1 (NIC)
    SP5985-2 (USB)

    1=enabled
    0= disabled

    Scan a config page and post it will ya, we're scratching on the dark without seeing some more information. Personally, I'm going for the wireless authentication being switched on.
    It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.

    I'm guessing Elmo is correct, I think it's an MP2550B (not heard of an MP2550N), and the printer/scanner kit is an option for this model

    Look at the product code on the serial number label.

    If it is a D017, it the basic model 2550B. The basic model has no print, scan, or fax. The usb and network jacks are there but no firmware to support them.

    If it is a D018, then it is either model 2550SP or 2550SPF. The SPF has the fax option preinstalled. Both model support print and scan.
