    Scan to folder, computer names is so long what to do.

    Hi, I wanted to configure a scan to folder for a company and that computer name has a very long name with spaces inbetween. E:G "Dell comp"
    So, how shall I configure it in the scan to folder smb//?

    If you do not want to type the name, you could try to "Browser" from setting up the addressbook entry at the MFP. If you can browse, you can build the entire scan path.

    IP address works great as long as the IP address of the target computer does not change. If have had to go out to customers after they have had a router changed and the IT tech changing the router did not check to see if there are any fixed IP devices on the network. Results, a different subnet. I have one customer that this happens with offen enough that I set the printing up to use netbios name instead of IP address.

    Are the length and complexity of the computer name causing a problem with the scanning or it is just a pain in the arse to type it in?
