If you have a problem with the laser unit shutter you can completely remove it by undoing the three screws that holds the shutter in place, as well as the two shutter arms and springs. The machine can work fine without it.
Press the GREEN button!!
yes, I know this, I was interested to know if there is a simulation SP able to prohibit the shutter operation
check SP2-914 open and close should be at "38" . Unfortunately there is no SP to disable the shutter but you might have an issue with IOB also with this SC error.
With SP2-914-007 you can disable the presence of the motor and the SC290 should go away even there is a shutter motor there.
Interestting! Wonder what would happen if the shutter is stuck half open/close and you disable the motor.... Isn' that what the sc is for?
Press the GREEN button!!
Well, the general rule is: "No laser=no print", as if everything is working properly the areas of the drum not exposed by the laser will not attract toner. So if the shutter wasn't completely open and the SC is disabled, I'd guess that there would be parts of the print that was missing, but part of it would look fine.
If you take off the shutter and also disable the motor no problem at all. Sometimes I've seen machines with shutter removed and SC290. Disabling the motor solves it.
If you disable the motor with shutter on you will get a blank page as the shutter is closed by default so no laser is goin to drums.
