    Smile Color counter

    Hello,

I have a simple question. We work with some new Ricoh device and we activate the color lvl detection :

    - First time, my device work with the simple two counter : black and Color. I have 576 B/W and 1438 Color
    - I activate the color detection. I have new counter : BW : 576 (the same, ouf ) and Color total 1438 (the same, ouf again) aaannnddd 3 LVL counter : 1 : 140, 2 : 369, 3 : 302

    Soooo, my question :

How work the color detection ?

The total of 3 color counter is not egal to color total, it's normal ? I can change the % of color for LVL ?

Thanks for your help and sorry for my bad english (I'm poor french technician)

You need to be a bit more specific. What model Ricoh? Where did you "Activate Color Detection"? User tools or sp settings.

Generally speaking, some models have setting where by them can display the amount of toner used. The numbers will have nothing to do with the total copies.

    Device : MP C3503
    sp settings

For be clear, before the technician modification :
    Page counter :
    Color Total : 1438
    B & W Total : 576
(Some other number, Printer and Copier counter per example)

    After technician modification :
    B & W Total : 576
    Colour Total : 1438
    Color 1 : 140
    Color 2 : 369
    Color 3 : 302

    other counters disappeared

I just like to have the calculation method for this

    Re: Color counter

The Color 1, 2, and 3 are color coverage counters. Level 1 is less than 5% total coverage. Level 2 is 5% or more but less than 20%. Level 3 is 20% or greater. I believe but am nor certain that the count is the number of originals and not copies. These counters are referred to as Accounting Counters. If the machine is on a service agreement where cost is based on usage, these numbers are used to compute monthly charge. If you still want to see counts broken down between between copy, print, and FAX, go to User Tools - System Settings - Administrator - Tools -Display/Print Counters.
