will a mp171 smb scan to win7 home?

Hey all, First I would like to say thanks in advance if anybody can help here.
Is it possible to smb scan to win7 home premium edition? I have searched and read all of the issues I could find about win7, but didnt find a whole lot on home premium edition.
If it is possible, my next question would be if it is possible with the mp171?
I figure I could start with those two questions before I elaborated on everything that I have tried, no sense in going any farther if it will not work.

Firm version sys/copy is 1.06, NIB is 9.02.1

    Thank You

I'm pretty sure your firmware is not an issue here. (???)
I think they were fine with win 7 almost right out of the box.
Just make sure file and printer sharing is enabled and password protected sharing is 'off', and the scan folder is shared with no restrictions, and you're good to go- with the exception of any 3rd party firewalls that might mess with you

No scanning with home edition if the mfp is on a domain, other wise is only a matter of firmware.
9.05.2 is the latest and greatest nic fw

Most home premium additions of windows can not join a domain, and don't play nice in the enterprise for full functionality. You can make it easier by disabling password protected file sharing though. there are many many posts on this subject..............

Make sure that SMB is enabled. Search Microsoft Support for 2696547.

    Thanks guys
I have successfully set up scanning to win7 pro computers before with the mp171 macine, but for some reason I could not get it to work on the home premium edition and wasnt sure if that was my issue ( being a home edition).
Of course this was at a customers office, so maybe I just missed something simple.
I am headed back out there tomorrow to see if I can finish this up.

By the way, how does everyboby here put up with the justmanuals guy bombarding threads trying to sell manuals, when there is a whole section called "service manual requests"? I know I havent been here too long, but Ive seen him trying to sell in almost every thread I have read.
Maybe the site gets a cut of what he sells, and it is accepted? Dunno

He pays to advertise here so we all just shut our mouths about it, well not everybody. These kinds of posts usually end up being somewhat of a bitch fest cross shit fight. Good luck to any rep points you have

I dinnt think it would hurt to ask. If that is accepted here, it accepted.
Would be very childish for someone to start a firestorm over something like that.
Im one of the new kids on the block, still learning.

I agree with you totally, it is childish. Can also become pretty entertaining too.
