MP 161 with no address book

Our customers rarely have a need for scann option, but when they do I set it up via WIM/Address book/set FTP to shared folder on network,I'm not wery much familiar with networking, just basic stuff alowing me to set up printer and scanner.
I hit the wall with this one because it's WIM doesn't offer me address book even if I'm loged on in admin mode.
Now after some reading of user operating instructions I'd say It's an application to be instaled via WIM or SmartDeviceMonitor.
Main problem is that I have no time to try that out in workshop (reading instructions at home with no machine next to me culd be a bit tricky) and going over to customer and figuring that out on a spot is time consuming and...well a bit embarasing.
I'm wondering if anyone culd explain how to enable address book on WIM,are those applications on CD provided with machine?
I'm working on refurbished machines,so if actual Ricoh tech didn't enable it I'm in a tight spot.
Allso I'we read here some posts stating that meybe reseting culd do it..SP 5801-011,yet I'm allways sceptic about reseting anything, for me it's last option
So help a brother out...any tip can be usefull cause now I'm fishing in the dark untill I learn all this.
Gears, springs, clutches, sliders, connectors and electronics...who on earth can tell what's wrong with it?

If the MP161 is equipped with the print/scan option, the adress book should be available in WIM and in Smart Device Monitor. Check Logging Data for maybe some logged SC's

I had this issue once with an MP2000. Turns out the client had created another admin account (via supervisor) and that was the account that had access to the address book. Try logging in as supervisor and see how many accounts exist. Maybe try deleting the existing admin account and creating a new one.

Check the actual mode lof the MP 161. If it is an MP 161F or MP 161SPF, then it should have an address book. If it a Basic model MP 161, it does not have Fax or scanning and therefore no address book. Product code for the Basic model is B292.

I'd say that it has Fax and Scanner simply because machine has those buttons on panel,WIM displays some Fax and Scanner settings in System,I can scann via twain driver, but client needs PDF's.
More likely it's what Athlontini posted, machines I work on come from Germany and it's amasing how I find them, setting and maintenance done before it come here...who on earth can tell what kind of settings it had before.
          Thanks for ideas fellas.

Had this exact issue a few years ago with an older (Aficio 2020D) machine - not sure if it applies here, but worth a try.
The SD card had been installed in the wrong slot, and produced the same results you're talking about - The address book was not able to be viewed on the WIM
Make sure the Print/scan SD card is installed in SLOT 1.

            Good Luck!

Try reinitializing the address book in service mode 5846-50 you will probably need to do this if the print/scan card was in the wrong slot.
