Insufficient memory in the destination hard disk on Ricoh MP C4503

When scanning over about 20 pages I get this message on a Ricoh MP C4503. They have a Canon that can do it just fine. They're I.T. people say there is plenty of memory and HDD space. Lastest firmware is installed.

How do you scan? Scan-to-email/folder/ftp? If you're scanning to email you can adjust the scan settings (resolution, file type, etc) to keep under the limit of the attachment of the mail server. Also set Max. Email Size in Scan-Settings - Send Settings to Off.

Exactly what I was going to suggest, turn off max email size if you're scanning to email

Maximum Email size for most systems is 15MB.
I set the machine for divide and send after maximum.

    Also check HDD status.
I have found a few that the HDD has only 2% left due to held files.
Backup address book and reformat HDD.
Why do they call it common sense?

If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?

User tools - scanner features - send settings - turn off maximum email size.

More information about the type of scanning would be good.

Ah I take it this is for scanning via SMB or FTP? Rather an odd error message for e-mail.

If you're scanning via SMB or FTP try scanning to another destination and see if you get the same problem. Also try another user account to scan with, even look at the permissions/security settings for that user.

If you're using SMB/FTP what server is the file share on, it is a windows, mac or linux server?

I think we need some more info about this issue which will help us to resolve it more.

Turn off Divide and Send and Max Email Size as already mentioned.

Also, I've seen some machines that won't scan more than 10 11x17 full color images at 600dpi in a single pdf.

It is a limitation of the Adobe version on the older machines.

Ok the usual expected questions have been asked by the consortium's experts, what do you have for answers? Also it's a C4503 the latest from Ricoh, which Op panel does it have on it? The standard panel or the Smart op panel, as the frimwar's are different for the panels, and are you trying to run any SDK app's ? I have'nt seen the iSDK released for the smart op panel yet, so sdk app's won't run on the smart op panel yet.

I'm sorry, it is scan to email. max email has been turned off as well as divide and send. it has standard op. panel. only installed a month ago so i don't think the hdd is full. also they are using Ecopy software. i think it's like PPDM.

I've got one doing it via scan to me in PCC. I'm waiting for Ricoh Level 2 to get back to me about it, if I find anything out I'll let you know.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.
