Ricoh Aficio MP 2000 printing landscape then portrait.

    Hello Fellow Techs,

I have a Ricoh Aficio MP2000 Copier. Every time I print a multi-page document It prints a landscape print out then a portrait print out. now the printouts are not duplicate it just alternates the paper. I tried reloading the driver, and tried different pc's still the same issue. The driver was retrieved from the OEM website (just an FYI) any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

If your printing this then in your print driver underneath the "portrait or Landscape" drop down box there is usually a box to checkmark that says rotate. At least on the PC not sure if your on a mac. If your copying then it would be selected on the copy window of the LCD screen, it maybe programmed as default on the copy function.

However i am not sure that if you print 1 print job and 1 copy of the print job it should print them all the same direction, i thought rotate only seperated sets as if you printed a 5 page document 10 times it would print 5 pages, then rotate the next 5 for 10 sets. I wouldnt think it would rotate every page in a single set. I am sure someone else will chime in on that, i am not to familiar with that.

I have in a few cases had a faulty paper out switch cause a paper tray to go into paper out for a few seconds after feeding a sheet of paper. This could cause a machine to feed from one tray, then think it is out of paper and switch to the other tray.

It'd be somewhere in the Finishing options on the main screen. Try reprogramming the screen to factory defaults.

Just untick the collate option in the application you are printing from

He said it was happening from multiple PCs. Granted, it could still be a driver issue.

Rotate sort is only available with the RPCS print driver. Printing Preferences - Printer Configuration - Collate Type. Options are Collate (Default) and Rotating Collate.

If they are using a PCL driver, check my earlier post.

If it only happens with certain documents, it could be a document setting.

I didn't mean a driver issue, most applications have their own print settings I.e. Adobe Reader or Word when you print using these you will normally see a tick box called " collate " on the first page after pressing print this plays havoc with any device and overrides any driver command. You will se things like stapling all sets together instead of sorting and rotating sets from different trays.

Try printing a multi page document from something like a web browser see if it still does it then
