    Hi

If it is the one between the Hot roller gear and fusing drive gear, then it is this one:

Looking at the manual, to replace the fusing motor looks fairly easy, says only need to remove the PSU?

But is replacing the fuser drive unit more difficult!?
Removing PSU is a 2 hour job on this little cutie.

    Re: MPC 305 Fuser Gears

    Hi,

i had the same problem. (See Mpc305SPF defectiv Gear from Fuser)

The fuser gears are damaged before the lifetime of 120k.
The gears from the drive unit are often damaged.
The customers hear a cracking noise or the system showed a SC544 because the gears will not move anymore.

If the fuser gears are damaged I change the hole unit. In germany itīs cheaper if the lifetime from the fuser ist high. And you need the fusing gears.

But if the gears from the drive unit are damaged i changed them often.
the first time i need about 2-3 hours, if you know what to do you can change them in under 1,5 hours.

After the change of the fusing/gears the problem didnīt come back. the parts are changed

    Re: MPC 305 Fuser Gears

In the last few months i have had to replace the gears, In one instance the gears were so bad the Fusing sleeve was also damaged.

One this to be aware of if wanting to replace the sleeve, The cost of the complete fusing unit is cheaper than the sleeve! how does that work out?
