    Enter user name & password

Hi Experts... Customer has imported a used machine from Singapore (Ricoh MP4500) and it indicates enter user name and password. Considering I don't have any knowledge of the user name and password pls let me know how I can reset this message. Even a memory clear run has not helped me. Please give me some help to get this done. Thanks in advance.

Re: Enter user name & password

Try logging in with 'supervisor' and leave the password field blank. If successful, then the only function you can do in this state is to change the administrator login and password. You cannot make any other changes in supervisor mode. If the supervisor has been changed from default, there may be a chance of resetting without replacing the nvram. Do a search of the forum and you'll find multiple posts regarding this.

Go into User Tools - System Settings - Administrator Tools and turn off user authentication.

Nothing is beyond fixing. What if he had the SP modes change list???? Hopefully he did. May be a dumb question but you are typing in "admin" for the user name and the password is blank, correct?

How in the world USER Code is correlated with memory clear its beyond me. Anyway if he has printed the non default data he is safe yes but I have my doubts.

At least it was not a color machine. Even with the non-defaults print out line position adjustment can sometimes be a bear.

Re: Enter user name & password

Hi.. Just a note to inform that the problem was solved by entering "admin" as login and leaving password blank. We had to go to the Singapore supplier to get the solution. Machine is now fully functional. Thank You'll for yr responses. Totally appreciated.
