    Check SP 3001-001, SP 3103-001, SP 3101-002 and SP 3101-003. If SP 3001-001 is near max or all the SP3103 reading are 5.00, the ID sensor or either dirty or defective. You will need a service manual. If you do not have one, you can purchase one from Just Manuals, The Internet's largest selection of manuals ~ Instant Downloads. The face of the ID sensor is in a cutout in a l shaped metal bar across the bottom of the photo conductor unit. The metal bar will most likely be filled with toner as will the one toward the development unit. This toner will need to be cleaned with a copy vacuum. Do not get the vacuum to close to the ID sensor as static discharge could destroy the sensor. Use a lens brush to remove the toner from in front of the ID sensor then wipe the face of the sensor with a soft cloth moistened with water only. After cleaning the ID sensor, you will need to run the ID sensor calibration as shown in the service manual. If you get an SC when running the calibration, the sensor will need to be replaced.

    Sounds like you did a memory clear, not a good idea. Now you need to locate the birth certificate and reinput applicable data, especially the LD data. It will not adjust itself back to specs. If it needs a PM to bring the CQ to acceptable, you're going to have to spend the money to do it, there's no way around that. Remember, It IS possible to turn the machine into a brick by screwing around with the wrong SP mode. It doesn't matter how good of a deal you got on the machine if you smoke a $1000.00 controller. Just sayin.

    This is about qualified techs helping other techs that have ran into a problem they can not solve. If we tell an inexperienced tech to do something and that tech does it wrong and really screws up the machine, then who's to blame? Your problem could be OPC drum, developer, toner hopper system, dirty sensor(s), dirty optics or dirty laser system. If you want to try to repair it your self, the very first thing that you need to do is get a service manual. The manual for this machine includes a Detailed Descriptions section. Use that to learn how the copy process works.

    Friend, enters diagnosis MODE SP;
    To enter the SP mode:
    1. Press Clear Modes;
    2. On the operation panel keypad, press 1, 0 and 7;
    3. Hold down Clear/Stop for more than 3 seconds;
    4. Press “Copy SP” on the touch-panel to open the SP command selection
    screen.
    5. Now enter the code with Toning SP 2207 RUN, do it about 3 times;
    6. Get off at exit diagnosis, tests check the copy quality to see if it is to your liking.
    Now would be good before doing so gives a sucked in the cylinder.
