Have seen just some, AFAIK these machines are reworked with "medium" efforts. Damaged or scratched covers are probably replaced but usually the machine's housing has been cleaned. PM parts are replaced if needed depenung on the cycles/age. Basicly not much difference from any other average/well reworked machine - definetly no guarantee for "like new".

We've had a few and they're not bad.... they look and perform like new. We only had two reconditioned 5500's and one 6000 for referance though.

We have since upgraded to the newest models 5503 and they are much better.

In all they're a sound investment as everything that needs replacing is replaced.

The covers are sand blasted to remove any dirt and grime. PCU and dev's are replaced for new ones, along with the transfer and fuser areas. Clutches I believe are stress tested and if passed, returned to the machine. Only replaced if they fail this test. Most, but not all the ones I have seen have had the firmware upgraded to the latest level. If there are any common parts failures, this is fed back to the re-manufacturing plant so the process can be modified to prevent the issue going forward. Generally they seem to run quite well.
