MPC2051 folding corners
Hi all,
Having problems with this device, folding both leading edge corners as it leaves tray 2.
Tried pickup roller/friction pad, new guide and mylar.
Just can't work out what it's catching on. All motors work fine in output mode. Registration sensor is fine.
Any ideas before I return to client (and chuck it out the window!!).
Many thanks.

Re: MPC2051 folding corners
If it is definitely folding at the tray, then it may be cracked. These trays are notorious for being easy to break. Try swapping the tray with another machines, and also check the lower right hand door; sometimes it can break too.

Re: MPC2051 folding corners
Sometimes dog earing on this model can be caused by:
1. The transfer roller anti-static plate, one or more of the tiny metal spikes are raised just enough to catch the paper (can be hard to spot unless you take the transfer roller off and inspect).
2. The plastic guide strips stuck on exit/inverter unit attached to the top of the door (the exit/inverter unit sits above the fuser when the door is closed).
These plastic guides can degrade over time giving the paper something to catch on when it exits the fuser.

Re: MPC2051 folding corners
Thanks for the replies.
Will need to take a closer look at the tray and door.
Unfortunately I don't have another one and all the trays are different on that machine.
Can anyone tell me if the guide for tray 2 should have a spring on it? This has one but there's no mention in parts guide.
Cheers.
