    Ricoh C6501 fuser unit

Could anyone know if C6501 fuser unit is compatible to C6000 fuser unit or not?

    Thanks in advance.

I have swapped these many times, its just a case of moving the small loop link on the rear connector block at the rear of the fuser, move it over one pin. Just have a look at fuser your taking out and make the replacement one the same. I have never had any trouble doing this.

Hey turbojetboy have you put in any of these new MPC6502 MPC5100 if you have how are they performing? any better than the junk MPC6501.

They are actually pretty good. Very few problems so far. Cq stays spot on and no toner dropping. Lct has a few mods already and we have seen a few blown power supplys. They are definately vastly more reliable in every way compared to 6501 / 7501. They do produce a surprising amount of waste toner, you need plenty of waste bottles, as they can fill betwee 10k to 30k.

    I have a customer with four of them. Replaced 2 C6501s, a 8075, and a 9000.

The waste toner can fill up quickly. The bottle can be emptied but the PM counter can only be reset by replacing the bottle. Haven't had a chance yet to take a bottle apart and see where the reset fuse and what value.

The tandem tray is a little flimsy. All the sensors for the right tandem tray are on the frame of the main machine. The tray can twist to where the flags do not go into the sensors. had problems on two of the four so far.

Otherwise, seem to be a good machine. So far no toner belching.

Every C6502/Pro 5100 gets a spare WTB on install with keyop instruction!!!!!! As for the flimsy tray, It's that at best! Ricoh took a decent tandom tray and made it into the cheap pos tandom tray of the earlier office color machines!!!!!!!! There is an RTB for a paper lift issue on the tandom tray, requires a spacer that's about 1 cm square and 3mm thick, applies to the inside rear frame of the machine costs about $24 US.......REALLY !!!!!!!!!

Oh, it's a cheap piece of junk alright. I would never sell one to a faithful customer, I have to sleep at night. Only slightly more reliable than an MPC6501.
